It’s our absolute pleasure to announce a nationwide tour with one of Australia’s most respected journalists, Leigh Sales.
As the anchor of ABC’s flagship current affairs analysis program, 7.30, Leigh is a force to be reckoned with.
Between hosting 7.30, having one of the nation’s most popular podcasts with close friend Annabel Crabb, being a two-time Walkley Award winner, and a published author – you would think Leigh Sales is thriving.
But, for the past 20 years, Leigh has been interviewing people who are often experiencing the worst moments of their lives. She thought she’d learned to cope with witnessing this tragedy firsthand until 2014, when a series of bad news stories couldn’t be left at the office.
The types of stories that had her dreading, ‘What if this was me? Or, my family?’
Her dread wasn’t unfounded, and it was her own near-death experience that sent her looking for answers to the most challenging question: how do you go on after the worst day of your life?
Now, in her newest book, Any Ordinary Day, Leigh interviews people who have been affected by the most catastrophic events in Australia. From the Port Arthur Massacre to the Lindt café siege, Leigh discovers how these people survived, recovered, and ultimately found themselves in the world again.
At these events, Leigh will be the one on the other side of the questions. As always, Leigh Sales will bring her characteristic warmth, self-effacing humour, and renowned smarts. (And we’re hoping she’ll even throw in a show tune!)
Tickets are limited – and will go fast – so jump in while you can!
