I’ve just completed another whirlwind trip to Australia – five days, two cities, four events and lots of beautiful catch ups with familiar faces.
I’m feeling so excited about the year ahead for you all – 2018 is shaping up to be epic one for Business Chicks. There are already a lot of plans that need to be executed, and like everything with Business Chicks, there’s bound to be a whole lot of surprises along the way too. I always love an element of the unexpected because it keeps things interesting.
The thing that’s really energised me this week was to see how committed and passionate the Business Chicks team is. The energy is palpable, and their enthusiasm rivals mine, making the vibe so exciting to be around. There are quite a few new faces in our Australian team, and I had the pleasure of getting to know them and sharing the history of Business Chicks with them and inspiring them about why we do what we do.
On Tuesday, I got to get out of my comfort zone and shoot the cover of my book, which is going to be released in the second half of this year. I’m much more comfortable putting members in front of the camera, so it was a little intimidating, but little Piper was there cheerleading throughout the shoot, and I think we’ve come up with something you’re going to love.
People have been at me to write a book for the best part of the last 10 years, and I’ve never really found the energy or time, but it’s exciting to see it come to fruition. I really hope this book becomes a resource for anyone wanting to shortcut their success in their businesses or their careers – and especially those brave enough to do it all while raising a family.
I’m heading back to Los Angeles today and going to turn back around and come back to Australia in under two weeks for our events with Kate Hudson, and I hope to see you all there! Wish me easy flying, a sleeping baby … and gentle jet lag.
PS A big shout out to Nicharla who was such a good sport when I spotted her and her Business Chicks bag in Pitt Street Mall and surprised her with an over-enthusiastic hug.
