We know smart women like you plan ahead so get ready to celebrate the most important day of the year with us – International Women’s Day.
International Women’s Day has become a pillar event on the Business Chicks calendar, and tickets sell out quickly.
In 2018, our powerful speakers inspired attendees to forge ahead for gender equality. Tracey Spicer spoke about the #Metoo movement in Australia, and Amna Karra-Hassan motivated and united friends and colleagues to think, act and be more outspoken. In 2019, we’re bringing together another powerful lineup including Anne Summers, Sam Bloom, and JoAnna Ferrari.
Also, help us support Sydney Women’s Fund on the day too. $10 from every ticket will be donated to SWF and there’ll be a raffle on the day to take part in.
Don’t miss out on celebrating the most important day of the year surrounded by the incredible women in the Business Chicks community.
Anne Summers goes into battle for women. She has advised governments, been an award-winning journalist, edited magazines – in Australia and in New York – led Greenpeace and even had her image on a postage stamp. She is the author of eight books, including The Misogyny Factor and Unfettered and Alive: A Memoir.
Sam Bloom is a fighter. She had the life she’d always dreamed of, but it was shattered in the blink of an eye after a devastating accident left her paralysed. She knows what it’s like to reach the outer limits of physical and mental suffering. But she also knows what it’s like to come out the other side, scarred yet undefeated. Naomi Watts and Reese Witherspoon are bringing the story of the Bloom family to the big screen in a film starring Naomi Watts as Sam.
JoAnna Ferrari has a curious mind. She’s an expert at transition and will inspire you to think differently. She went from high powered executive living the life, to coming out, changing gender and crashing with 79 cents in the bank. Her journey almost destroyed her and at first glance, it may seem that her life is very different, but ultimately, it’s a reminder of what’s really possible.
