"Do as I say I will do"

I am optimistic about life and the future. I love my family. I love what I do. I have a few good friends. I surround myself with people who want to be really good at what they do. I aim to live by my values - even though it gets tough to do so at times. It is those tough times that really test who you are though.

My work life blend

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

The proximity principle - surrounding myself with interesting people DOING interesting things that make the world a better place.

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

When I realised I should be a creative not an accountant

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

It affects me of course, but I am resilient.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Everything is and has been the result of a choice I have made

Which women inspire you and why?

Anyone that is optimistic, they are fun and hopeful and curious and looking for ways things around them can be better. This makes doing something about it possible.

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

I think when I was in primary school. Being left out of things in the playground. It gave me resilience from a young age. I think I knew myself from a young age as well. It was only years later it was told that I had chosen not to be involved in what they were doing, rather than being left out.

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

What makes you happy?

My work my husband and my son. This is not linear but rather swirls in an infinity pattern because they are all inextricably linked.

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)

When creativity is connected to problem solving not just a nice fluffy thing to do on a weekend. We have some big issues to resolve, (entirely possible by the way!) if we embrace the creative process in its entirety (5 parts). One of those issues for me is for all girls everywhere to feel happy and safe.
