"Why not?"

Hey there, my name is Monique and i'm the Events Assistant for Business Chicks. I'm here for any event related enquires you may have, or honestly, just for a chat. I'm passionate about children's charities, cats and catching flights. After work you can find me wherever the coffee, champagne or cheese is (not necessarily in that order)

My work life blend

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

I'm inspired by women who know they can admire glass slippers and still want to break glass ceilings.

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

Starting my new role with 11 upcoming Business Chicks events in 2 weeks and thriving through it. #BaptismByFire

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

Make notes of what could have been done better, take a deep breath, put the kettle on and give it another go.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

"Have courage and be kind". Thanks Cinderella

Which women inspire you and why?

Mums! The unconditional love-giving, supportive superheroes of our lives.

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

I lived in Paris for just over 2 years (which was obviously incredible). Learning a new language however and adapting to a new culture taught me immense discipline, determination and patience. Also restraint, pain au chocolat's are hard to resist!

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

I'm an ace listener. I care deeply about the people in my little world and i'm always open for a cuppa (and a cupcake) and a chat.

What makes you happy?

Disney films and champagne.

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)

Doing just a little bit better than the day before. Success to me isn't one particular milestone, but incremental baby steps that all deserve celebrating!
