"Grow through what you go through."

I am possibly one of the most extroverted introverts out there; depending on the day! I love my husband and our fuzzy bubs (2 huskies and a tonkinese kitty) more than anything, I'm a proud ally of the LGBT+ community with a transgender Dad and I'm a massive advocate for talking openly about mental health. I have spent the better part of the last 10 years wanting to work for myself, but never really knowing how to get to that point, let alone what I wanted to actually do. The answer was there right in front of me the entire time; I started practicing Pilates when I was around 20 years old but it never occurred to me my passion for the practice was enough. Proved myself wrong.

Energetic. Introverted. Bright.

My work life blend

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

Because I need a band of supporters who get it, and I need more education about how to be the best there ever was!

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

Every time a client tells me they've realised they can do something now that they couldn't before we started working together, and they realise just how capable they really are!

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

I look at where I tripped, and not where I fell - and try to learn from that. Although, fear is something I'm still working on.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Start before you're ready.

Which women inspire you and why?

Selma Blair - she stares into the face of her crippling disease and she gives it the finger. But she also openly admits that not everyday is a strong day. Kristin Cavallari - her accomplishments are amazing, and she just keeps pushing for more. The way she is constantly looking for opportunities to progress is incredibly motivating & reminds me that nobody is handed anything, we all need to take action to get what we want.

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

The biggest challenge I've faced is an ongoing one with mental health, I have Generalised Anxiety Disorder which at times you wouldn't know exists and other times it can be almost crippling. It continues to show me how much I can overcome in the face of fear and doubt, both mentally and physically. Instead of an excuse, I use my anxiety as an aid to keep pushing beyond it to prove myself wrong!

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

I am really good at finding the positive in the 'negative'.

What makes you happy?

Sitting on our brand new patio with my husband, with an Iced Latte in one hand and patting our dogs with the other.

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)

Success to me is the financial freedom to not have to work that day/week/month if I don't want to and still have more than enough money rolling in to my accounts to cover all expenses; it is supporting my little family & being able to provide everything they need & want; it is being Australia's most in demand Pilates instructor; it is being a regular feature Instructor on Pilates Anytime; it is being an in demand key note speaker for mental health advocacy. And probably so much more...
