"Feel the fear and do it anyway!"

I'm a wife, a mother, an excellent friend and a breast cancer survivor. I'm also a self-taught jewellery designer of almost 20 years. I am passionate & fearless, especially when it comes to designing. I offer my clients a bold alternative to what is currently available. I have a keen eye & sense of style and with Pagoni I've created a brand that epitomises empowerment & personifies bravery. When you see my design you'll understand! lol

Passionate. Authentic. Rebel.

My work life blend

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

i want to broaden my networking circle of fabulous business women!

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

I donated one of my handmade feather necklaces (RRP $835) to the British Grand Prix Ball for their auction to raise funds for the Princess Trust. Attendees are the who's who of London! I was informed that my Pagoni necklace sold for 1,400 BRITISH POUNDS!! My piece was recognised as a unique quality piece. I have been validated as a designer! Wooh

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

I sit with it, analyse it, learn from it, move on.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Believe in your worth. You are enough. Also, be who you really are, let your true light shine through. It's exhausting dancing to everyone's perception of who they want you to be.

Which women inspire you and why?

Elizabeth Gilbert, because she has been dealt with some shit in her life and yet she continues to believe in her worth, still loves life and holds no bitterness. Michelle Obama, her grace and elegance in the public eye is profound. She has not let her position or fame go to her head but considers herself like everyone else. She's outspoken on the importance of education and how it should be made available to all regardless of socio-economic circumstances. Closer to home...my 18 year old daughter inspires me every day. She has weathered some tough times with the possibility of losing her mother to breast cancer at the tender age of 6. Being bullied through most of her school years, suffering from anxiety on a daily basis...she continues to soldier on, thinks the best of people, does not pre-judge and wants to help others where she can.

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

Grade 3 breast cancer with double mastectomy. Staring death in the face, mourning the loss of my breasts (and womanhood) suffering from debilitating depression. Once I came out the other end I was deliriously happy to be alive and incredibly proud of myself for getting through the darkness intact, well minus my breasts! LOL I learned that I am strong, resilient and can accomplish anything with the love of my family and friends but most of all I gained self belief and self worth. Two very precious commodities!

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

I am really good at designing and handmaking beautiful jewellery. I am a really good mum because I have raised an extraordinary young lady (and because she tells me so!)

What makes you happy?

spending time with my husband and daughter, designing jewellery, having DnM's with my girlfriends.

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)

When Pagoni is on the New York fashion runway during fashion week.
