""The Universe ensures that the right people and opportunities always come into your life at the appropriate time.""

I am an author, educator, speaker and researcher who has helped over 25,000 parents, educators and other people who care for kids develop the skills and confidence to promote mental fitness habits in both their homes, schools, early childhood facilities and workplaces. My purpose is to help raise a mentally fit generation by supporting parents to build strong fences at the top of the cliff, so we don't have to be the ambulances at the bottom.

My work life blend

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

To connect with like minded women in a community that supports each other.

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

The moment I realised people wanted the knowledge I had to share and that it was of real use and value to them. Speaking in front of over 500 women on stage,

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

Acceptance - giving myself the opportunity to feel whatever I feel about the situation, let the moment pass and think about what I've learned from it. Also remembering that there is always a bigger picture.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Both from Brene Brown - her advice that we're not here to please everyone and if you're not in the arena getting your ass kicked I'm not interested in your feedback.

Which women inspire you and why?

Women who are being bold and courageous in their space - Brene Brown, Rita Pierson, Michelle Obama, Emma Isaacs, Janine Allis, Lisa Messenger and Oprah.

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

Recognising and acknowledging that a career I loved wasn't giving me the lifestyle I wanted. The finding the courage to change careers allowed me to create autonomy, freedom, flexibility, and abundance.

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

I take complex science and research and translate it into easily implementable strategies parents can use to help their kids.

What makes you happy?

Being at the beach, my husband, my work with parents and educators, being in nature, photography and getting lost in a good book.

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)

Success for me is making a positive impact and designing a life I love and a business I love that provides the finances to support both.
