"It'll happen, keep going."

Being a flight attendant for many years I spent hours on my feet. With a love for Italian shoes - the quality and traditions that go with that, I saw a gap in the market for shoes that meet the airline uniform standards that look professionally & fashionably stylish while being wonderful to wear. I knew corporate women would love them too so I created Louise M shoes for cabin crew and corporate women. Now I have my own brand of Italian made shoes 'Louise M' (Trademark) made in a factory on the outskirts of Florence. My goal is to build the range of Louise M and sell online globally. On the most challenging days I tell myself just take one step at a time, it is better than no steps at all. The next time you travel please ask the flight attendants "are you wearing Louise M?"

My work life blend

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

I joined to be amongst a group of amazing women, who also strive to succeed in business. I am appreciative of the high standard of events that support, nourish and inspire me to continue pursuing my dreams. I hope to one day give back to BC and its members what they have given me over my first years in business.

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

Having my very own shoe brand 'Louise M' made in the same Italian factory as one of Italy's luxury brands. Really - pinch me!

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

I go for a walk, fresh air does wonders. Assess and think of the next move. Take another step in a different direction. Just don't stop, you won't get anywhere if you do.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Don't wait for others, to achieve your dreams. If you want it go and get it yourself.

Which women inspire you and why?

Those that have started a business at home and now have a multi million dollar business.

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

I have had a blessed life overall. You could say being the youngest with 4 brothers was a challenge growing up. This is not said with any resentment, however it has helped shaped who I am today.

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

Being inclusive, it's not nice to feel alone.

What makes you happy?

My family, travelling, and knowing I can actually help women enjoy their day more with my shoes.

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)

I aim to be a global business. When I have worked out how to do that and have a profitable business that allows me to be financially free (to spoil my family and others), I will have succeeded.
