"Imagination is the highest kite you can fly"

I'm the founder and director of The Content(ed) Copywriter, a content and copywriting agency that helps businesses craft their stories, from brand strategy and content strategy through to execution of content. In my 22-year career, I've worked for Australia's top magazines, in leading communications agencies across the globe, and headed up brand and content teams for leading Australian businesses.

Imaginative, pragmatic, calm

My work life blend

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

To connect and learn from other great women

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

I feel lucky - there have been so many, from running events in London, Rome and New York, where I got to meet and be inspired by people like Valentino, Andrea Bocelli and Bono, to flying into one of the most remote places in WA creating content for Paspaley. But mostly, I pinch myself every day because I get to work with a team of awesome writers and hear and share the stories of brands and businesses.

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

I believe in continuous learning, so I always try to see those experiences as ones to learn from.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Find the ridiculous in everything

Which women inspire you and why?

So many. Most of all, my girlfriends who I've been friends with for over 25 years. All very different, courageous and FUNNY women.

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

I really need to think about this. I don't know if I've had one single defining challenge (yet). More lots of little ones, like moving house 9 times in 10 years. That has helped me get very good at packing! Haha. I'll come back to you.

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

Connecting the dots. Whether it's seeing multiple perspectives at ones and connecting them into a unified point of view, or creating strategy out of chaos, I see the invisible lines between things. And then express it eloquently.

What makes you happy?

My family. A great book (and the next great book already on the bedside table).

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)

When I'm nourishing imaginations across Australia and the world.
