"The fight is won or lost far away from the witnesses, behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights- Muhammad Ali"

I am all about property and people. I love them both. I have been in property for 30 years and loved every minute from the late night negotiations, to mentoring and training up and comers and now as the director of a buyer and vendor advocacy company. My husband run a valuation company and I have 3 active children. I love the basketball, a great auction and I'm a foodie. I also have a Boston Terrier and a tiny rescue terrier.

Focussed, great listener , inclusive

My work life blend

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

I was initially attracted by your guest speakers and as I learnt more about the group I felt it aligned with my values. I have always been a big advocate for women supporting women.

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

When I won the Victorian Auctioneers Competition as the only woman entrant and youngest every entrant. Thrilling

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

Process it- I must learn a lesson or a take away or it was in vain. Then I set it aside and move forward.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Have a great memory or be a good note taker- Advice given to me by Chairman of the Board on my first day in my first job.

Which women inspire you and why?

Julie Bishop- the path in politics is tough and I have always admired her poise, intelligence and dedication.

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

I was once in a job where I loved the staff I managed but was at odds with the values of upper management. I was torn between protecting the staff and my own sanity. I am grateful for the experience as it taught me empathy and what not to be. I went on to run a successful business from there. We learn more from those that challenge us than the one who love us.

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

Getting people to open up and talk. I love hearing about other peoples journey. I think I make people feel comfortable

What makes you happy?

Coffee, my family, work ( especially my clients)and my dogs

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)

Two things- A business that is driven by repeat and referral business underpinned by an alliance partner network who respect and trust their clients with. Glowing reviews of appreciating is also high on the list.
