"Give a damn. Many damns. More damns than anyone."

Hi, I'm Bec! I'm a very proud member of the Business Chicks team - this is my eighth year at Business Chicks (just between you and me, I'll never leave!). I'm Director, Community and Brand at Business Chicks - yep, i've got the best role there is! I'm also the Editor of our magazine, Latte - and pinch myself every day because I get to curate this beautiful publication and tell the stories of extraordinary people. I'm mumma to a little man, Max, and we mainly just sing along to Disney songs and colour-in or 'ca-ling' as he calls it. I'm mad passionate about equality and kindness and you'll find that in tonnes at Business Chicks. I'd so love to connect with you.

Equalist. Storyteller. Mumma.

My work life blend

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

Ahh, they kind of make me! But, it's a no-brainer, really ... women, we rock and we rock big time when we come together.

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

Sitting in a pool with Sir Richard Branson on Necker Island talking about our love for scuba diving, interviewing Arianna Huffington and Julia Gillard ... every day at Business Chicks is one!

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

Usually I just eat chocolate ... Haigh's speckles, anyone? Or buy a new midi-skirt. But on a serious note I made it a mission to become BFFs with feedback - good, bad and ugly! Take it all in, work out what will serve you and forget everything else.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

When I first had my son, Max, I struggled to give up the type of worker I could be before I became a mum. I got a text from my own mum one day that said, "Max is happy and healthy - tick. You are getting work done - tick. You are loved - tick. You are being kind to yourself - no tick! Live in each moment. Do the best you can at the time. F**k expectations." I wrote it out and it now sits on my desk every day.

Which women inspire you and why?

All women. Full stop. Well, not mean women - the kind women, the ones lifting others up.

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

Becoming a mum threw a spanner in the works. But now I'm more organised and efficient than ever.

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

Belting out a Disney ballad! And I hope I'm good at stringing a few words together! Oh and I'm damn good at curating a gorgeous Instagram feed.

What makes you happy?

My son's giggles. And equality.

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)

I don't think I'll ever 'be' there ... success is a movable feast for me. But if I can make my son belly laugh every day, that's success to me right now.
