My work life blend

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

To be part of a community of professionals in Australia and be connected to those that are 'going places'.

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

Getting a 2-month contract through a recruiter at the University of Melbourne. I transitioned out of Events and into Project Management so organically and I have thrived. If not for that opportunity to get in front of that Project Management team through that appointment, I might never have realised my potential.

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

I prioritise reflection.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Have a goal? Write it down.

Which women inspire you and why?

<3 Ilana Glazer - for creating a show representing so accurately the mundane elements of female millennial life and showing us they are meaningful #broadcity <3 Chelsea Fagan - for educating me in personal finance and how to be financially independent #thefinancialdiet <3 Issa Rae - for creating a show that had a transformative impact on me #insecure <3 Jacinda Arden - for how she showed the world how it's done. #2020 <3 Nicki Minaj - for being absolutely unapologetic #only <3 Emma Watson - for introducing me to Feminism, and showing me how to use what platforms you have to say what you have to say #UNspeech

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

60 hour weeks working at Vue de Monde. Working that job taught me the value of every second, the skill of maintaining mindfulness for hours, for learning names and faces, the skill of moving people without them realising.

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

I am really good at supporting others particularly those in my teams. I often see several steps ahead and am really good at identifying risks or successes before they happen. I am always happy to help, to chat or to do what I can to help you to achieve your goal.

What makes you happy?

Pilates. Black Coffee. My partner. My Kelpies. Living near the beach.

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)

My definition of success for my life is when I have complete balance achieved in my pursuits, where I am meaningfully contributing to the world with the talent I was put here with, surrounded by a supportive community and with ongoing love.
