"Paying it forward....Pays Back!"

First and foremost I'm a coal train driver, a trusted advisor, speaker, published best-selling author of the book â??High Heels to Hi Visâ?, magazine contributor, host of the â??Kickass Radioâ? show & podcast and founder of the Kickass Women community. Kickass Women is all about connecting and supporting women throughout their career. I have been making waves as an enforcer in advocating for women working in industry.

My work life blend

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

Community - The key difference about womenâ??s networks is that they are less about selling, and more about sharing. I love the benefits of womenâ??s styles of networking includng finding valuable long-term business contacts, hearing advice from peers and experts, sharing knowledge and experiences, all with an emphasis on making connections and collaboration. Being a member is also about using your â??social capitalâ?? and can help you to reach those top jobs in your careers or progress in your business as far as you want. There is power in connectivity. Something special happens when you see that you are not alone. Making connections and building relationships with other attendees and speakers helps women form an understanding of their worth, and then they learn strategies to ask for help and advice and even become mentors to others.

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

Creating Kickass Women Community

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

You learn and you grow. Success does not come without fear or failures.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Never react to confrontation - respond with "Carefrontation"

Which women inspire you and why?

Many women inspire me and there are too many to name just a few. Powerhouses of networks of extraordinary women who lead without judgement, who inspire wholeheartedly and empower with force and whose friendships I truly value and treasure. The connections between and amongst women are the most feared and revered, the most problematic and the most potentially transforming force on the planet.

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

Bad things do happen to all of us. We all face all sorts of adversity in the course of our lifetime and its important to consider that everything that happens to you has purpose. Through all of your lifeâ??s victories and all of the pain, you learn and you grow and believe that everything that happens to you has meaning. Life lessons are the greatest and most valuable lessons. My darkest moment became my catalyst to pursuing life in all its fullness, and as a result I embarked upon and am now enjoying a crazy adventure.

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

Making you feel good about yourself.

What makes you happy?

Surrounding myself with like-minded women and enjoying in one and all's successes.

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)

Success isnâ??t just about what you accomplish in your life, itâ??s about what you inspire others to do! When I see the percentage of women working in industry more equitable.
