"What's stopping you?"

Communication is at the core of all human connections, personal AND professional. If we're not communicating effectively, we run the risk of being misinterpreted and misunderstood...and that can cost time, money, resources, relationships and even reputation. By breaking communication down to its fundamental building blocks, I empower you with the knowledge, skills and resources to consistently communicate with clarity, credibility and compassion so you connect more meaningfully with your audience.

My work life blend

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

Where else can you surround yourself with such incredible, fearless women pursuing their dreams?

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

Being told my coaching had impacted someone on both a professional and personal level, leaving them with a lasting self-confidence. WOW.

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

Feel the fear and do it anyway! If I fail and fall, I'm fortunate to have an amazing support network around me who I know will help me get back up and guide me as I learn from mistakes to find the best way forward. I love the quote from Nelson Mandela: "Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again."

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

"Don't burn the candle at both ends" - life is busy and 99% of the time, I wouldn't want it any other way. But we need to make sure we're busy with the right things...and that we always have time for the people in our lives that mean the most to us. Time is something we can never get back, so spend it wisely.

Which women inspire you and why?

Anyone who has had the courage to follow their heart in the pursuit of something - anything - they are deeply passionate about. From getting up at 4am so they can exercise, to quitting a highly successful (and lucrative) career to pursue their true vocation.

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

I poured my heart into a business venture, put myself out there, open to judgement and vulnerability. The venture didn't work out and I was crushed. But the lessons I've learnt about my resilience; about how you can never be everyTHING to everyONE; about the importance of who you surround yourself with and how you can turn failure into opportunity has left me in a stronger position than before.

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

Giving things a go...from a very early age I was always trying new things to see if I liked them. Also forming a connection with people ... and empowering them to connect with others.

What makes you happy?

Spending time with the people I love, swapping stories and making each other laugh... you know, those big fat belly laughs that make your stomach ache, make the tears stream down your face and make you worry you may wet yourself!

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)

To always have the courage to pursue my dreams and make them a reality so I have the ways and means, freedom and flexibility to work and travel the world with the people I love most, my family and friends.
