"Fall down seven times, stand up eight."

I am a volunteer Director on the WA Development Board of The Hunger Project Australia. This is what gets me up every morning - being able to support the men and women who are achieving sustainable self-reliance to end their dependence on aid and charity. I own an apartment hotel business in Albany, Western Australia. Prior to the grand adventure of small business, I was employed by Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd to obtain the State and Federal government approvals for the Roy Hill Project.

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

This is a fantastic network of empowered, creative, positive, like-minded, like-hearted human beings.

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

When Gina Rinehart asked me to represent her at an International Women's Leadership Symposium.

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

Keep everything in perspective (it's mostly a first world problem); assess the situation with a clear mind and then get up and start again.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Light a candle instead of complaining about the darkness.

Which women inspire you and why?

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

What makes you happy?

I love gardening, trravelling and food.

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)
