"If you never try, you will never know!"

What gets me out of bed in the morning is my love for relationships - discovering them, building them and nurturing them, with colleagues, clients and customers alike. People will tell you my best traits are my enthusiasm, energy and positive attitude. I've just joined the Business Chicks team as the new Relationship Manager so watch this space! Prior to this I was at CPA Australia where I worked in member engagement. At CPA I was particularly passionate about evolving women in leadership and established a women's leadership series that included two International Women's Day charity events. I love being able to support women in business! In my spare time I sit on The Light Ball committee. The Light Ball is an annual black tie charity event that aims to raise awareness and funds for mental health, in particular depression and suicide. Since it's inaugural event in Sydney in 2015 over $300,000 has been raised for mental health charities. I am very much an ideas person, and consider myself creative, curious and am always learning something new. My current side passion is mindfulness & meditation.

My work life blend

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

Because I love supporting and connecting with awesome women!

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

Presenting at 2011 Bel-Air film festival on the red carpet and this year when I created and ran an amazing International Women's Day event supporting the wonderful charity that is Global Sisters.

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

I see them as opportunities for growth and steps that are needed to be a better person

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Create your own genius and make them want you!

Which women inspire you and why?

Oh so many! My mum, step-mum, nan and Grandma for just being generally amazing! Oprah for just, well being Oprah! Princess Diana for doing things differently. Coco Channel for providing so many inspirational quotes and of course the LBD. Audrey Hepburn for being so elegant and showing the importance of helping others as well as helping ourselves... I could keep going!! Everyday I read stories or meet women who inspire me - they are just everywhere!

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

When I was 20 I had a detached retina that almost sent me blind. It was my second year at university and I had just got back from a study abroad in California. It was the middle of winter and I had no family in England at the time. After the surgery it was tough and I almost dropped out of university and gave up but ended up finding inner strength that I didn't know I had and rising to the challenge, working a job, an internship and getting good grades all whilst on the road to recovery. What it taught me was, we don't know how strong we are until we face something so to never underestimate that.

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

Public speaking and making new friends.

What makes you happy?

Being around other happy people.

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)

Happiness, having purpose and helping others.
