At 42, Ive learnt that anything is possible if you back yourself. Ive learnt the value of authentic leadership, living life with an attitude of gratitude, and the power of giving back. Ive also learnt that kindness is an underrated quality and something I always strive to do more of. Ive learnt that not finishing high school doesnt need to dictate the rest of your days but hard work and ambition will .... and lastly Ive learned that approaching life with love results in magnificent things.
Change maker, philanthropist, leader
My work life blend
Why are you a Business Chicks member?
For the energy, the connections and because their team are awesome and their events uplifting.
What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?
So many great career moments, especially during my time at foxtel .... but the thing that instilled pride in me is watching people progress in their careers, especially if youve lent a helping hand.
How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?
Dust myself up (often after crying), get back up, re-set and go again.
What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?
If its not a hell yes its a no was very helpful during a very busy time in my life! Also, to approach life with a thrive attitude, not a survive attitude.
Which women inspire you and why?
So many .... lots of business chicks (you know who you are), Maya Angelou, Oprah, Ellen, my mum .... all of them really ...
What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?
Biggest challenge is always testing myself against 'the evidence' rather than the story I'm telling myself that is often holding me back.
What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)
I'm good at multi-tasking!
What makes you happy?
My family .... and those days where you feel like you almost nailed it all.
What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)
Success is owning who you are, and allowing yourself to celebrate the wins, value and learn from the lows, and look back on life with no regrets.
