My work life blend
Why are you a Business Chicks member?
I become a Business Chicks member a couple of years before I scored a job here, my reasons for joining still ring true today - to be part of something bigger than myself, to be inspired to do more and discover more of myself and connect with other women who are doing the same.
What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?
Dancing on the bar at Richard Branson's house on Moskito Island.
How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?
I like to think I'm always strategising to find another way when I'm faced with a setback - I love a challenge! I see failure as a lesson but fear is probably the one that I struggle with the most, theres a lot of things that I'd like to push myself out of my comfort zone on!
What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?
To put yourself in someone else's shoes.. and to always, always, always be kind.
Which women inspire you and why?
Parents - all of them! I'm 24 months into this mothering thing and I'm still in awe of what a big job it is raising little humans!
Oprah - everything about that woman is inspiring!
And the rest would be the women in my life that inspire me on a daily basis - my Mum and my Business Chicks.
What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?
Well, I'll say giving birth to my little one, it's changed me for the better in so many ways. I feel like my heart has been cracked open!
What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)
Negotiating, working fast, moving things forward, staying positive and believing that anything is possible.
What makes you happy?
Family, friends, connecting with people, food, wine, candles and chocolate.
What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)
I don't really resonate with the idea of success, it's like some far away goal you never really get to connect with. To me, it's about carving out a life that is nourishing, challenging, loving and always pushing me to grow and stretch my thinking.
