"Beautiful things don't just happen, if you want something marvelous, you've got to make something marvelous!"

After travelling through the Middle East, India and South East Asia in 1993, I returned home to Sydney & began creating a beautiful range of bath, body and home fragrance products that enhance & celebrate our everyday rituals. From humble beginnings at Glebe markets, while studying a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Ceramics, Urban Rituelle was born. My skill set is a recipe of positivity, passion, determination & resilience. I am willing & open to share my experiences with those around me & to support others on their journey. I want to live a life filled with adventure, connect with amazing people & learn new things. I have a never ending love of food, fine wine, fashion, interiors & exotic destinations. I am married to my business partner & co-founder, Scott, & the very proud Mum of two gorgeous giggly girls.

Creative, passionate & authentic

My work life blend

Why are you a Business Chicks member?

I love being part of the Business Chicks family, a community that is both encouraging & supportive, it has allowed me to connect on a deeper level with other wonderful entrepreneurs who share my journey. I have learnt many valuable lessons & made great friendships, all of which have helped me to stay motivated & focused on my goals.

What's been the biggest pinch-me moment of your career?

Anthropologie, one of my favourite retailers in the USA, placed an enormous order for their stores nationally, which confirmed that we were manufacturing an Australian made product with global appeal. Winning Best Product & Best Stand at the Reed Gift Fairs was a massive highlight!

How do you deal with setbacks, failures and fear?

Have a long walk on the beach, have a rant, connect with your support people & then reset my sails. I also read my inspiration board filled with encouraging & positive messages. One of my favourite quotes is by Nelson Mandela, Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down & got back up again.

What's the best piece of advice you have ever received?

If it was easy anyone could do it........wise words from my Dad!

Which women inspire you and why?

All the women I meet at Business Chicks are incredibly inspirational & who better to inspire us all, than the beautiful Emma Isaacs, who is so giving of her time, love & encouragement. Not only has she shaped Business Chicks into the successful global business it is, but she is soon to be a mother of 5!

What's been the biggest challenge you have faced and how did it help shape who you are today?

Exporting our products to the USA, which meant coordinating 80 sales reps, managing different time zones, and exhibiting at 8 USA trade fairs, all while running our Australian operations with a 6 month old & 2 year old. AND then the GFC hit! This sure taught me how to get back up, once you've been knocked down!

What are you really good at? (We know this one's hard, you guys! As women, we tend to talk about what everyone else is good at. But now it's your turn.)

I am very determined! I plan my day, week, month & year well in advance, I set deadlines & stick to them! I am also open to ask for help when I need it!

What makes you happy?

I love being near the sea & in the sunshine. When I am travelling & exploring, I am in my happy place!

What's your definition of success, and how will you know when you've got there? (Go on, aim high!)

Success is about nurturing and growing our company and empowering our staff so that we can continually innovate and develop new product ranges and be leaders in our field. Personally success to me means raising our beautiful daughters, living a balanced healthy life and spending quality time with family & friends.
