Your winter reading list: the best-selling books from our 9 to Thrive Summit speakers

Fill in the time until 9 to Thrive Melbourne kicks off!

BY Nicky Champ, 5 min READ

The place to be at our recent 9 to Thrive Summit in Sydney (outside of the speaker sessions and jumping into the ball pit, of course) was our bookshop. A steady stream of attendees lined up to meet and greet our speakers and get their books signed. Since it’s getting cooler outside and we’re opting to stay indoors, we’re sharing the books on the top of our (and the 2000+ women who attended 9 to Thrive) book piles this winter. We’ve created a reading list from some of the most forward-thinking and downright brilliant authors of 2019.

Our 9 to Thrive Summit 2019 Best-Sellers

Disrupt-Her by Miki Agrawal

In Disrupt-Her, Miki Agrawal invites all us humans to reexamine the beliefs and behaviours that keep us from living a fully expressed and authentic life. If you have ever wondered how to break free of group think and be who you are, this book is for you. This book was so popular at 9 to Thrive that it sold out within minutes of her speaker session wrapping!

The Gift of Asking by Kemi Nekvapil

One of our most popular keynote speakers, Kemi is one of our all-time favourite speakers. In her book, The Gift of Asking, Kemi explores why many women struggle to ask for what they need and want. She breaks down cultural myths about asking, which many of us have learned in childhood. She reminds us that asking is not necessarily greedy or selfish, but can allow us to feel empowered, valued and worthy in all aspects of life.

A Real Girl’s Guide to Money: From Converse to Louboutins by Effie Zahos

One of our favourite women in finance, Effie Zahos, moderated our Money Talks panel at 9 to Thrive. Her book, A Real Girl’s Guide to Money : From Converse to Louboutins, is for anyone who wants to reexamine their relationship with money and set themselves up for the future.

Winging It by Emma Isaacs

In case you somehow completely missed it, our Global CEO and founder has written a book. In Winging It, Em shows us that the only thing holding us back is ourselves. Em is currently writing the follow-up to Winging It, stay tuned to find out release dates and when you can get your hands on a copy!

The Energy Guide by Dr Libby Weaver

Dr Libby is the bestselling author of seven books, but The Energy Guide is one of our all-time faves. It covers how to reboot your diet, improve your sleep, understand your hormones, reduce your stress and manage the demands on your time. Take a look at all of her books here, that delve into everything from Rushing Woman’s Syndrome to What to Eat Now.

Unf*ck Your Finances by Mel Browne

Joining us on the Money Talks panel was financial advisor and accountant, Mel Browne. In Unf*ck Your Finances, Mel challenges us to change our thinking and our bank balances for the better. With clear, easy to follow advice, she shows us how to set up savvy savings accounts, make the right investments and discover why budgeting is a dirty word.

Smart Girls Screw Up Too by Bella Zanesco

Tired of feeling like you’re never quite ‘enough’? You’re not alone. Smart Girls Screw Up Too is the no-nonsense guide for a generation of women who secretly muse about what might be possible in their careers, health and relationships but don’t know where to start or are too afraid to.

Unmasked by Turia Pitt

Turia had us all in stitches during her keynote talk at 9 to Thrive. Resilient, determined and downright hilarious, she’s living proof that with the right mindset we can truly achieve anything – and then some! Turia has also written other books, including Good Selfie, a must-read for every family.

Happy reading!
